Now there is a full line of gym-quality grid-tied electricity generating equipment from SportsArt Fitness (we’re an authorized dealer). The Green Read and Ride Bike
This bike makes electricity! Schools and districts across the country are using this proven, evidence backed, STEM integrated interactive learning improvement tool.
Fits kids 4 feet tall and up, comes with a reader rack and lesson plans for grades 1-5.
Plugs into a normal wall outlet and sends 10-30 watts back to the building when pedaled at a steady pace.

Simple is Better
When designing a Green Microgym floor layout, multifunctional equipment with plenty of room for bodyweight exercises is prioritized.

Long a symbol of luxury in high-end gyms, TVs are big energy wasters and have become obsolete. A strong wi-fi connection is all anyone needs to stream video and audio content to their phone or tablet.
Refrigerated Vending Machines are Out
In addition to having wasteful plastic bottles, these machines can use a dollar a day in electricity. Better to bring your own water bottle and fill it up from a non-refrigerated drinking fountain.
When Possible, Users Control Climate
Although not practical in every space, the ability for individuals to control the fans and lighting for different spaces in the gym adds to the user experience (gives them more control) and reduces energy usage.
